The Emergency Preparedness, Response and Recovery Conference will cover all aspects of emergency management planning and response for communities, agencies and organizations. This conference will bring together national, state and local experts and practitioners to discuss the full spectrum of a disaster and the impact on a community or an organization by distilling down the operational needs for planning, response and recovery.
Being held in the heart of New Orleans, this conference will take an operational approach to discuss and share lessons learned and best practices from disasters such as Hurricane Katrina, the Southern California wildfires, mid-west flooding and other disaster situations. Attendees will hear first hand the meticulous planning that must occur prior to any emergency, as well as the coordinated efforts during and after disaster strikes. Attendees will learn new techniques and the comprehensive and systematic actions related to restoring, repairing and renewing the key aspects of ordinary economic, infrastructural, psychological, institutional and material life following an emergency.
This conference will identify both technical and ordinary facets of the overall recovery challenges and help emergency managers, disaster experts, and other officials to sort out the key elements crucial to developing a recovery strategy. It will allow you to examine approaches and strategies which may be useful in times of future crises affecting your community and workforce.
