ExL Pharma’s 4th MSL Best Practices Conference will address methods to maximize the impact of Medical Science Liaisons, who act as ambassadors to Key Opinion Leaders outside their companies, and also as key players in collecting and disseminating competitive intelligence and clinical data within their companies. Attendees will hear best practices that have been successfully implemented by our experienced speaking faculty that can be applied in their own positions as MSLs or MSL managers.

New changes to the ACCME guidelines will be outlined, with special attention paid to changes on the horizon in light of the opinion published by the AMA regarding the pharmaceutical industry’s role in Continuing Medical Education. MSLs will learn effective methods of communicating with KOLs and tips from sales and marketing teams on getting through the door and capturing the attention of these doctors to whom access has become more and more restricted. Sessions will be offered to focus on the specific challenges of managing these educated professionals, teaching how to recruit and retain the best possible MSL force.

In response to feedback received in past meetings, this year we will offer a tracked agenda, ensuring that the needs and interests of both MSLs and their managers will be addressed directly, and that each session will offer information that our attendees can apply in their work. New topics have been introduced this year, including an in depth look at the regulations governing MSL activities that will be offered by a leader in the legal community and a personal case study on the career of an MSL, moving from academia to Medical Science Liaison to Chief Medical Officer!
